Birch Arts CIC: Bringing together Ideas Research Creativity & Health

Birch Arts CIC

Birch Arts CIC brings together ideas, research, creativity, health and wellbeing through artist residencies, exhibitions, community projects, wellbeing workshops and creative programming in Haringey and Enfield, North London.

What we do and what we’re building

We are developing a space for artist residencies, exhibitions and creative projects rooted in community, collaboration and local place. We want to offer something that is genuinely hard to find locally: affordable, supported, low-barrier exhibition space. Most galleries are too expensive, too formal, or too hard to access without existing connections. We are building something different, a guided, real-world exhibition experience for artists who are ready to show their work.

Artist residencies
Supporting local creative practice
Artists will be supported through residencies, action learning peer group coaching, and access to a network, audience and marketing support. The aim is to create a space where artists can develop their practice, build confidence, and connect with others.

Support, networks and growth
We programme exhibitions, talks and workshops that bring our community together around creativity. Our Creative Insights talks invite artists and creative professionals to share their journeys, alongside events and arts workshops led by resident artists.

Talks, workshops & events
We are developing a schools and youth programme with local partners to support children and young people, teachers, parents and carers. This will include artist talks, workshops, Arts Award opportunities, and an annual children’s art exhibition.

Creative opportunities & learning
Alongside the gallery programme, we are developing a creative health research strand grounded in both practice and research. This builds on extensive experience in leading and facilitating creative, participatory health and social research. We will develop partnerships with health organisations and community groups to explore how arts-based approaches can support wellbeing and create meaningful, co-produced work.

Co-produced work & partnerships
We collaborate with local makers, creatives and businesses, including framers, photographers and other local partners, building strong relationships that support artists, increase visibility and contribute to a thriving local creative economy.
